What does that sign say?

Yup, it says Slovakia.
Pretty much the only English sign we'll see for quite some time...
Even our map is in Slovak!
This is actually on the train to Slovakia.  Don't I look so excited?

I'm a little sleepy because we got up even before the sun to make it to the train station on time!

Some beautiful countryside in either Slovakia or Hungary.

The Bratislava Train Station... We'll be seeing you again to get to Prague!
In Restaurant #2 for breakfast, after being told in the first restaurant, "No food!"
Strange, because your menu on the table says otherwise...
We're hungry!
Castle on the mountain. Our first destination.

Strange statue to greet us upon arriving to the castle.

Scenic view of Bratislava
Map of the Castle- hey! English translation!
Backside of Bratislava Castle
Other side of Bratislava.  What is that tower on the bridge for?

cool-looking gates... but on the other side of the gate is a steep drop... what is that gate keeping out?
Nathan! You're so tiny!
Bratislava Castle

Statues on top of the gate.
Taking a break.

A church in Bratislava

And a strange fountain with turtles, frogs, and lobsters on it...

A Pretty cool machine, they're using it to move a piece of glass into place.

Looks like a bug to me.

I'm not sure what this says about Slovakian work ethic...

Snapped a shot of this cooky statue right before a mob of elementary school kids crowded it.

In downtown Bratislava.

I'll give it to 'em... They've got cool man-hole covers over there...

Priscilla in front of the French Embassy in Bratislava.

Is that Napoleon Bonaparte you're leaning on?

Silly looking touring vehicles. There was the cutest little kid standing in front of them,
but he ran away when he saw me taking a picture.
This little guy was sitting outside a pub.  He was friendly when you walked up to him,
but wouldn't follow you when you walked away.  Probably the best part about Bratislava.
Looking towards downtown Bratislava.

My first encounter with .2L of OJ (that's 200mL- a can of coke is ~355!) of refreshment for about a dollar. :-P

Nathan's meal at an authentic Bratislavan restaurant.  Potatoes stuffed with... Hamloaf?!

And what's more enticing than looking at a fat ole' pig on the menu?
I just ordered chicken noodle soup.
After that, we headed back to the train station to head into Prague.  We met up with friends from Nathan's class, and they took us to our host's lovely home.  We were so thankful for a good night's rest!  Be prepared!  Tomorrow is all about Prague!
