I am overdue for another post!

I've been slacking on the posting! But now I have time to tell you what's been going on, and some squished up photos to go along with it!(Not that I take squished up photos, but that's how this blog app reveals them to you. SIGH, I'm too cheap to get a new one!) [Now i'm fixing everything with my new blog app! Enjoy!] Okay, so there were these two girls from China who lived in the Commonwealth House with Nate and I, named Willow and Julia. Really sweet girls who made friends with everyone they met. Nate got to know them from his placement with OCCA (placement is what the school assigns to the students. It's extra-curricular and hands-on experience for apologetics practice.). The placement was with Alpha, which is a study of Christianity for those who've never heard of it before. As I said, the girls came to Alpha and was in the same group that Nate was facilitating. He ended up doing a lot of explaining with them even after the meetings, and he would go with them to Church in the mornings. They really appreciated him, and his (in their words) funny behaviors. This past Friday was their last day in England, because their classes were over, so they had a whole bunch of people over for dinner on the Tuesday before they left. Nate and I were invited and they really put out a Chinese feast!

They called the meal hot pot, because all you did was prepare a bunch of veggies and meat and throw it into a pot of boiling water for it to cook and then serve. So easy! But they made a lot of food!

This is Willow!

This is Julia and Willow! They served everybody, either a spicy or non-spicy version of everything.

This is Willow and Julia with my fellow Kitchen cook, Dion, and our house warden, Amy. We had lots of fun that night! It made me sad that I didn't get to know them better before they left! A lot of people came and helped them get their stuff to the coach(or as we say in America, bus), and we were all very sad to see them go. They said we could come visit them in Beijing some time soon! Hurray! Tour guides in China!

what else? I got to do a little walking around Oxford and came across Folly Bridge. The name tickled me, so I took a picture of the label and bridge with a view of the Thames river (Unfortunately, It's on my real camera, so I'll have to steal Nate's computer to download and post them). As I was walking back from the bridge, I noticed a tourist board, and was reading it, and discovered that Folly Bridge is actually a landmark of Oxford! Apparently, that is pretty close to the original site where farmers would push their oxen across the river to the other side! Hence the name Ox-Ford! Wow! So me, being silly, took a picture of a bridge, not realizing the significance of the sight! Well, I'm sure it will be repeated lots during my stay here! Heehee!

This Saturday, Nate and I went to a conference about New Evidence for the authenticity of the Gospels. Three Cambridge scholars were the lecturers, and they were just very impressive with their presentations, and their Q&As.
