The Last Pictures from Our Europe Trip!

So, these pictures were from the last day of our trip in Eastern Europe.  We had a day to do whatever we wanted, so we asked the couple we were staying with where we should go, and they suggested we should go to Karlovy Vary.   A spot in the Czech Republic known for its natural springs and scenic landscape.  We decide this is probably the best day trip possible, so we pack up our stuff and leave the next morning for Karlovy Vary!  We left the family, with many good memories!
This is the house we stayed in in the Czech Republic. The house was a typical 1970's concrete communist-style house.  Had everything you need, nothing you didn't!  Great Family! We were sad to leave them!

The first thing we see in Karlovy Vary.  Buildings, buildings, buildings... Now if only we could read the signs...

We stroll down the streets, and come to the river.   The buildings were just lined up next to each other along the river.

Very elegant buildings...

All along the river...

One of the first springs we found in Karlovy Vary.  Karlovy Vary has natural springs along the river.  The water is naturally hot and full of nasty tasting minerals.  Naturally, we wanted to try it...
We have our choice of  little mugs with straws in the handle....

So we bought a mug (Made in the Czech Republic) and dipped it into the wells.   Not very tasty water.  You'd have to be REALLY thirsty to drink it, in my opinion, but people were sauntering around, sipping out of their mugs like it was the best stuff ever.  And it could be, the springs are supposed to have minerals that can cure anything...

Another spot with nasty tasting springs.

We thought this was funny.  A store that reminded us of Pennsylvania!

A plaque at one of the springs.  62 degrees celsius is 143 degrees farhenheit!

Not sure what this is for, but it had shiny things on it...

They have this obsession with scroll work on buildings.  Very pretty.  Look!  It's Nathan wandering around!  Clearly NOT in his natural habitat....

And of course, I demand another obligatory manhole cover picture.  They're  just so  cool looking!

We thought that if we had to pick another honeymoon spot, we'd go to Karlovy Vary.  Here's our recommendations to those who are looking to go to Eastern Europe for their honeymoon!  Go to Karlovy Vary!

This is just  outside the city, it starts to look more natural and woodsy.

Monuments for dead people sprouted up along the paths.

We found a trail that would take us to (of course) the highest point in Karlovy Vary.  Nathan leads the charge, and convinces Priscilla, somehow, that this is a good idea.

Palace on top of the hill.

Nathan at the top of a tower!  He's telling me to come on up!  Okay!

The view from the tower.

Did you know hobbits are from Bohemia?  Neither did we, until we saw their houses in the middle of the woods!

And their train station depots.

So we hiked up another hill to get to this tower, but we got there too late.  They just closed everything down.  We couldn't get into the tower, couldn't get a drink of water.  Nothing.  We were a little disappointed.  Especially since we were tired, thirsty, and couldn't ride the trolley back down.

As we came back down the mountain, we spied a statue of a goat on the rock.  I demanded that Nate pose with it.  He  submitted.  Then we got in a little bus and headed back to Prague airport to come back to England!

And that is the end of our travels!  Finally!
